Pelvic Floor Fitness & Recovery
Incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, or low back pain should not be stopping you from building strength! These are signs that your body needs strength training, and with appropriate exercise programming and careful guidance, you can accomplish your health and fitness goals.
Jen has her Core Confidence certification through Pelvienne Wellness which encompasses a wide range of pelvic floor training techniques that reach far beyond a simple Kegel. While Kegels are proven to have real benefits, many women either fail to do them in conjunction with functional movement, or they don’t do them at all. Jen incorporates personalized pelvic floor cues through functional movements to help you have a better understanding of what your “deep core” actually is. She also has experience working in conjunction with pelvic floor physiotherapists to ensure you are getting the best care possible.
This type of training is highly beneficial for everyone, but especially for women who are planning pregnancy, have been pregnant, or are perimenopausal.
I was nervous about feeling judged while restarting my fitness journey after having a c-section, but Jen helped me move past the fear and intimidation - she’s incredibly welcoming and judgement free. She gets to know you and customises the workout to your goals while taking your health history into account to make sure you’re not overworking yourself. I’ve lost 30 pounds, feel stronger than ever, and I no longer pee when I sneeze! I’m still working on gaining the rest of my muscle back and losing another 70 pounds, but after thinking I’d never be able to use my abdominal muscles properly again after the c-section, it feels good to feel connected to my body and myself again. -Cressa
